So! Thank-you for welcoming me back. Though I didn't miss the Internet a whole lot, I did miss Blogland. I kept all these running dialogues to you going in my head.  :)

Well, I know you want to see pictures of Hobbit Cottage so far, so in my header (I'm working on the size) you'll see one of my favorite things--part of our dining room. How cozy (and a tad romantic) to sit at that pretty window and stare at all the green from our hedge and a ton of huge trees (someday I'll show you the lovely bark from the gigantic sycamores). Lots of old houses and green, green trees--we love our views from this corner lot, though the tall hedge on two sides gives us privacy, too. At our last suburb house our dining room windows looked out to a brick wall (bleh) so the view from our table here is amazingly better.

We have just two bedrooms, but also a bonus room--an office at the base of the stairs. The office will have a western, old-timey theme and will be Tom's. It's in a state of high disarray right now.

But climb the stairs and there's a tiny room which I've already made into my library:

(Lighting issues again...sigh.)

My own library room! Bliss.

So there are a few peeks for you today. And though I'd love to tell you about the neighbors we've met and more about our moving adventures, I need to return to the basement and all our many boxes there. Stay tuned!

Just so happy for you. It will be so refreshing when most of the unpacking is done. Your home is so cozy and just right. Take time to rest. Blessings to you.

I love the view from your table, the new header. You could hang a bird feeder of some sort there, perhaps. And you will have a window on the four seasons! Blessings on you and Tom in your new home. (I love that your books were unpacked and put in place so early! We'll need some lighter pictures later so I can look at the titles!) ;->

I feel like I'm the one making this exciting move! I LOVE the new header and your cozy library among the rafters is perfect! Can't WAIT as you unveil the rest of the house! It will be such fun to see what you've decided to keep/bring with you, and what had to go in the move. I know you'll make Hobbit Cottage (love the name you've given it!) every bit as cozy and charming as every house you've lived in since I first started following your blog.

Looking good...and hey, pretty good order in the library already!! Congratulations!! Are you planning to have a skylight installed in the library room? Tho' there are likely other electrical solutions too. Do you read Apt. Therapy site? I really enjoy going there...so many unique and cute ideas there!! Have fun moving in!!

Glad you're back--and glad you got moved--lots of unpacking and settling in, but how nice you've already claimed that upstairs space as your own!

Congrats! We will be joining you in box move-in nuttiness this upcoming week when the moving truck that was loaded 2 days ago arrives at our "new" home. I too have been really offline the last month. Enjoyed seeing how you have already made some nice areas in your new home. :)
