Our Moving Announcement

So!

Remember how I've said 80 times that Tom and I must get out of here? That winters are making us bonkers? That we've lived in New York for 20 years and now it's time to leave?

Well, forget that.

Tom's been hired for a dream job, something he's wanted for years, and it's local. It's not a forever job, but he doesn't need one of those right now. He's pretty excited.

So we're staying put.

And you know? I'm fine with that. When we discussed this, I felt terrific peace--perhaps mostly because of moving-avoidance, ok. But I'm bigtime into following peace, even if it leads me right back where I am.

Peace has, so far, never led me wrong, especially an 180 degree turnaround one like this, one so strange that it looks suspiciously like something God would do.

So now what? Now I need to receive more grace for dealing with winter, with staring out our windows and seeing only a frozen, dead natural world for one-third of the year. I need to stay on the Obedience To God Track where Life is never dull and far away from complaining, whose track always leads to wrecks.

Uncomfortable times require receiving more grace and spending more time with God. Amazing cures, those. I remember that, yearly, I'd get cabin fever by January 3rd(!), but now it doesn't hit until February's end. A grace change, for which I'm grateful.

So there you go. I warned you not to get all hyped-up about our possibly moving again, not to let certain control issues spill over. heh. I really did. God has the most amazing sense of humor and I just love it... and Him. :)

*******

And lest this sound rather anti-climatic, I'll tell you tomorrow about the huge changes Tom's new job will bring for us both.

"Nor should we complain as some of them did, and were killed by the destroyer"   ... 1 Corinthians 10:10.

It's March--thank-goodness! And to top it off, new coupons are available to print. Check your favorite coupon websites today.

There's another coupon for Duncan Hines Red Velvet Signature cake mix here. I'll be getting four more of these for only .25 cents each next week. (Only to be baked when we have company, of course...wink, wink...)

Congrats to Tom on a job he really has wanted!! A man with a job that makes him happy is a good thing...wherever on the planet that might be!!

Well, since February is a bad month to you...PLAN a fun trip someplace warmer for next year that time maybe...sometimes having something fun to look forward to really helps! I love doing sewing projects, quilting, etc. during the cold months...not as fun when it is hot!!

Yes I agree when a person can find a job they enjoy going to...well how many can say they have that!! :) I was wondering. Could you possibly gather a few women together for a winter book club? Maybe during the months you have less snow so they can get to your house. Not formal but just a cup of tea and talk. Even a three or 4 way conversation over the phone or computer? Or play chess with someone else this way! I have no idea how you do that but I hear it can b done. That way for a while your house will not seem so snow bound. :) Like was already mentioned you could do crafts while it is not too hot to have that quilt or whatever on your lap. :) How about working on christmas 2013? An elderly [or not so old} person you call each day {to check on} and enjoy learning/chatting with? I just went out and fed the scrub jays and other birds and cut back just 12 bush branches that needed cut back {more later} and will later go out to hang up the clothes etc. I have it easy here I understand but I too love being in and out all day and would reallllllllly miss [and be bummed ! } it if I had to stay in most of the time. Now that you know your nest will remain the same at least that is determined..for now. God lead you on a chase of wondering where you would now live and He now knows you two are willing to go or stay. So now you can rest even easier as you always do in His shadow. ..and He knew that job would later be offered offer too!! :-) Sarah

Congratulations to both of you. A happy husband makes for a happier wife. It is good to know that you are where you are supposed to be, at least for a while.
Time flies, and it will be spring before you know it.

What a difference a day makes, Debra! There is much to be thankful for that you are staying put. No worrying about selling your house and packing up box loads of stuff and you can now take your time and thoroughly research the areas you might like to retire to later.

Oh my heavens! Congratulations Tom and Debra! Health and the means to have a roof over our head goes a long way in giving us a peaceful feeling. Can't wait to hear more about it. God is good.
