Who Have You Picked Up Today?

Yesterday, hopefully I made you laugh. Today I'm afraid you just may cry, at least if you watch this:

TCM Remembers 2014

I certainly found myself a soggy mess while watching these shadows of the past and then the dam really ruptured after the final name and voice.

Yet yearly I play those TCM Remembers montages again and again and find them fitting tributes to those who did not hide their talents nor wonder for 60 years just-what-am-I-supposed-to-do? Rather, they just did it, found their way and shared their gifts with the rest of us, making our own journeys better and brighter, sometimes perfectly timed so to lift us up and keep us walking.

What each of us do, what we share and what we overcome on Earth-- it all will matter in Heaven. I seriously believe that and here is just one of the verses which hints at that:

"We have small troubles for a while now, but they are helping us
gain an eternal glory that is much greater than the troubles."   ... 2 Corinthians 4:17

It matters that we let our hardest times make us stronger, not bitter, angry, nor weaker and anxious to "just get this all over with." You know, so we can escape into Heaven where all is friendlier, simpler and people are kind, not thoughtless. Rather, it matters that we use the gifts God slipped into us so to help lift others who've fallen along the road.

It matters what we do upon Earth. And it will greatly matter in Heaven.
This is what I believe.

Again,  TCM Remembers 2014

"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace."   ... 1 Peter 4:10

Balance, peace, and joy are the fruit of a successful life. It starts with recognizing your talents and finding ways to serve others by using them.
