Of Painting Stairs

Okay. So remember our dreadfully-ugly-grey stairs? Well, they've become the perfect winter project. I'm only in the middle of this project, but I just couldn't wait to share them with you:

Don't you just adore the miracle that is paint?

So back I go to this large-ish project of mine, Day Four or Five, I forget. It's a messy, time-consuming job, but it's worth it. Oh, and I'm considering painting the walls a light-to-medium green. In fact, I also want to paint our large middle upstairs room green, also.

I love it when I finally make up my mind.

I'm redecorating..big job after Christmas, especially when I can't find the stuff I stashed to make way for Christmas decor. :-/

Wow. If that doesn't put spring into your step, nothing will!

It looks fantastic. I was going to do that years ago, but never tackled the project. You have done a fantastic job! What an amazing difference.

Nice job Debra! Yeah it's amazing what paint can do, you've heard the exspression "paint can hide a multitude of sins"? Funny and true, I love the yellow and with the flowers how cheery. And yes that picture of the green and white bedroom is adorable. Everytime I come over to see you have made everything come alive with decorating and paint. It's so worth it! Easy for my eye to say huh? LOL

lovely! it inspires me. . I have not done our basement steps here and really, really want to. but I'm going to wait until spring, so I can have the doors open and so we can use the other doors in and out of the basement. Too much snow for that right now! But I love your stairs and will think of them as I plan mine! thanks for sharing.

Now I'm thinking of doing something similar on my basement stairs...Lord knows they could use some cheer!
You're an inspiration, and I love the verse you ended with!!!

Very Beautiful!
I've seen someone elses stairs similar to that on another blog. Something I want to try on mine too.
I also want to paint my entry room a granny smith color...but do not know what colors would go with such a bright color for the other rooms, which I want more of a tone-down for the others...I don't know.
Glad you share your decor w/us!!!!
Love it!
