So I'm thinking God's got me in the middle of an intense Life Makeover.
It's a Good Thing. I'm actually enjoying it.
Spirit, soul and body. Hair, clothes, weight. Yard, home, decor. Replacing what is worn-out and broken. Living prepared for anything. Attitude adjustments--lots of those.
And dying to self, but then, always He's working on that in me. Always.
How good it is when I cooperate with God rather than fight Him or choose a different area to change. Nothing is too hard, too bad or too painful as long as I have Him, my comforter, healer of hurts and my best friend. Closeness to Him makes everything ok deep inside where Life really happens.

I keep telling you my store is enchanted.

I've been thinking lately: It's one thing to be a victim, but it's quite another to adopt a victim mentality. Those are scary and the opposite of faith. "Be it unto you even as you have believed."
A victim mentality is the opposite of love, too, for it does not "always trust, always hope, always persevere."
Today are you expecting more good things or more bad? Are you expecting that people will always mistreat you? Are you still mad at the person who treated you unfairly or, instead, are you moving ahead in the joy of perfect faith?
"The righteous person is rescued from trouble,

Last I heard today it was 111 here and we haven't been anywhere with air conditioning yet today. The house is positively steaming hot. I keep thinking of the older generations who lived always without air. Who had fireplaces to cook at that were lit 24/7 or who worked in the field without even a nice thermos of ice cubed water along side of them. So many many things we take for granted they never knew. When I get in the shower I think it was only one generation back from me that did not have running water. Even then one family still had an outhouse till they died. This family though, had a pump outside the kitchen door for drinking and bath water to be drawn from. How easily we take for granted to just reach in the freezer for a cube of ice or turn on the water for a quick shower to cool off. We are now so blessed in material things. Yet how is our spiritual life compared to those who lived that generation or more ago?? I am reading and reading your today's post. I just feel I should be doing so to have it sink in. I know I did not write really about what you wrote but am contemplating it still. Your store keeps reminding me of the one Mrs. Catherine I believe she used to call herself, wrote about on her blog. She later went private so I can no longer go on her blog. She lived in Liberty Kentucky I believe she said. I loved hearing about her town too. I missed the comment about the brick. Yes! I love that look. We have the used plain bricks on our house. We aged them by just dry brushing some with black paint and others with tannish off white and others with white we added a bit of gold paint to and it and also some gray on some. It looks great! People think they are actual used bricks. You only brush lightly with the very dry brush the raised parts of the rough bricks. By keeping the colors not bright it makes them looked aged. This method makes it easy to match a newer brick area with one say already at the house like a partial wall or such. Sarah
