Want A Terrific 2021?

"Yes, this is not a lay back year. 2020 was the year of awakening, this year is the year to fight even harder than before." --- Lucienne Manace

******

So on New Year's Eve some folks at Facebook were all, like, "Good riddance to 2020! I'm glad you're gone, you old, stupid year, you."

Sigh. (Personally, I pictured the Somers in Alaska family declaring that and then giggled at the juxtaposition.)

Folks, a year is only a measurement of Time, a title for a grouping of days. What matters is how we fill a year. What we do with a year, not what it appears to do to us.

Some will disagree, but basically, if you want a wonderful 2021 you'll need to create one.

No, really.

My personal Bible verse for 2021? This one:

I love how it does not say, "If the days are evil, sit on your couch and bawl while you wait for Jesus to return for a rescue."

Here's a prophetic hint: the days in 2021 won't, poof! Stop being evil. Sorry, but no. Yet the awesome news is that you can still make the most of your own opportunities.

Perhaps you can become a--

singer
prepper
blogger
cheerful giver
gardener
collector
historian
encourager
terrific cook
Youtuber
baker
artist
decorator
author
seamstress
dog walker

Or delve into, even specialize in--

natural healing
making money a whole other way
herbs, tinctures
long-term food storage
walking
the Constitution
drying foods
books of a different genre
making candles
the Bible
photography
finance
Youtube instruction videos
foreign cuisine
recycling items for reuse
first-aid
decluttering
homemade cleaning solutions

Or you can always clean and organize and repair your house. ツ

And the other day when I mentioned fighting, I hope you didn't think I meant battling only in public forums.

No, often we personally must fight against evil, clingy spirits of--

depression
hopelessness
offense
laziness
prayerlessness
procrastination
hatred
discouragement
unforgiveness

Each of these lists could be so. much. longer. But this is simply a blog post, after all.

If we'll make the most of our opportunities, God will do the parts we cannot. And together? We'll create a bright, wonderful 2021, no matter how evil the days may appear.

"Faith without works is dead."   --- James 2:26

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." --- Ephesians 6:12

Choose proactivity! Choose passion, overcoming, battle. But please do not choose an "I-can't-help-it" self-pity, for it paralyzes and stuns into a debilitating misery.
(And never forget what happened to King David when he chose to stay home from the battle. Yikes.)

Oh, and earlier I gave you the link to TCM Remembers 2020, but here's one which includes stars we lost from many different genres, including tv, music and general entertainment etc..

Happy new year to all my readers!

Yep. Yep. Yep. I agree wholeheartedly. So much to still accomplish in this big world. I'm not about to let Satan think he's winning with me.
Blessings,
Betsy
