An Introvert and Her Camera

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”

Oh! Perhaps I can forgive our too-hot summer now.

I mean, never do I recall such a warm, late, long-running Autumn, one so gorgeous that even on a grey morning, our neighborhood still looks sparkly like a party out there:

That leaf confetti! I used to be all must-rake-or-mow-over-every-leaf-before-winter, but now? Uh, no. Why fight against the leaves even if all the neighbors do? Everything is gonna be all right, Debra. Everything is gonna be all right.

Gee, it seems I'm always standing in front of windows with a camera--all seasons. Or in our yard. (I wonder what the neighbors think.) Perhaps most true introverts do that, especially ones who only go on vacation every 5 years or so. We non-foodie-or-grandmother-type homebodies must take pictures of something, you know.

So there you go--the reason you see the same houses, trees, flowers and patio chairs over and over (in case you wondered). I would apologize, but hey, I'm trying.

So the presidential election looms ever closer, people are grumpier than ever, but well, here's my recent reading material (after meditating upon God's sensible words, of course)--

Anyone notice a theme? Hmm?

One must do what one must do to keep smiling, even if ones friends think differently. Ones friends, after all, do not live inside ones head and neither do they understand all the custom-programmed switches up there.

Er hem.

"When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise."   ... 2 Corinthians 10:12

Oh! And calling all fans of Mary Englebreit (or of pretty bookmarks). Two sellers at Ebay are offering 8 bookmarks of 4 different ME designs for just $1 each.

Now there's a deal that's hard to beat. (There are lots available--don't race over there in a panic, ok?)   :)

Here (and here) you go.

Love your pretty fall photos. And I agree, don't let people get you down. God has it all under control.
Blessings,
Betsy

Your fall looks a lot like ours here in the Midwest. Beautiful and long-lasting and warm! Loving it! And your blog, as always!

Fall has been wonderful this year! It just glows outside. I've decided to part ways with my rake, too. I have made peace with our leaves. Eventually, they'll blow away, and that's okay with me. Debra, I always enjoy seeing the photos of your neighborhood. I'll bet your neighbors are flattered that you take pics of their homes.

Betsy--so glad you like the photos! Isn't this a beautiful time of year? Yep, we mustn't let people get us down or make us change our course!

Deb--thanks so much and yes! Isn't this about the most perfect autumn, ever? It's like it's lasting forever and that's not something we experience every year, certainly.

Pam--that's so cute of you to say my neighbors are flattered. I hadn't thought of that. :) And how fun that you, too, have come to peace with your leaves!

Thanks, Everyoneb for taking the time to comment! Blessings, Debra
