Gotten Pretty Old? At Least It Can Save You Money :)

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]"   ... Matthew 11:28

Of course, growing older may not be exactly fun, but it can have its perks, such as senior discounts!

If you're at least 50 - 55 years old (and older), this list of possible discounts will astound you. If you're not yet 50, the list may make you wish you were. heh. Oh, and some discounts may vary from store to store and area to area.  So ask. Nicely. :)

Remember today and always "to keep your hope fixed on God who richly provides us with everything to enjoy," (1 Timothy 6:17).

Keep Him (truly) Number 1, love Him with all your heart, and then nothing--no disappointment, hard time or death--can ever totally blow you away.

A special thanks to my sister, Corrine, for sharing the senior discounts list at Facebook.

And speaking of saving money, remember the coffee recipe Naomi gave me? Well, after three weeks, I've decided I prefer my homemade coffee now over any from a coffee shop. It's that good.

Here's what I do:

I place 1 tbl. of decaf into the filter of my coffee maker then sprinkle some baking cocoa over it.

While the coffee brews, I place these in a coffee mug (all approximate measurements) :

 1/4 cup coconut milk
1 tsp. butter
1 tsp. sugar
1 packet Stevia
1/2 tsp. vanilla
and a sprinkle of cinnamon if I'm feeling adventurous

I add the brewed coffee to the cup then pour it into our (cheap, Aldi's) Bullet mixer, blending for maybe 20 seconds.

Then oh my goodness ... I drink this creamy, soothing stuff. Yum. Perfection.

(The only imperfection is that it doesn't travel well in a thermos. I discovered that when I took some to Tom's back injection appointment last week. So be sure to drink it immediately.)

The recipe does sound interesting...we have not yet gotten a bullet...tho' that is a good idea too...nor one of those stir sticks you put in your cup or pot. One day. Tis amazing how one can mostly manage ok with not a lot really (smallest kitchen set up here I have had since we were first married). Thanks too for the discount ideas...tis true you seem to have to remind the clerks, etc. Never hurts to ask. We just as well save all our pennies we can!!
Have a great rest of the weekend!

Don't be disappointed if the discounts mentioned are not given to you. Our Arby's only will has one senior discount. A senior drink. So the cost of a small soda will only be 50c. No other drinks or things are discounted. Our Denny's say they give no senior discounts at all. Naturally too if you use one of their coupons at any place they may or may not also let you have the senior discount. It never hurts to ask. all they can say is no. Also sometimes one clerk will do one thing and another or another time it will be different. Many places have told us they are not allowed to ask if you want a senior discount. Customers have been offended that you thought them old enough for one! So You have to ask Them. LOL
The difference in your yards from the time you bought your home to now is amazing! It is so much prettier now!! Sarah
