Well. I ordered two, in black, and when they arrived and I put one on?
Oh wow.
I felt 30 years younger and 30 pounds lighter and 30 times prettier.
Talk about your enchanted summer nightwear.
In fact, they're so remarkable that I'm thinking for the rest of my life I will buy only black sleepwear.
Hey, why not?
And well, you know how I can turn any even silly experience into a Life Lesson? Well here's today's:
When people discover something which makes them feel younger and prettier/manlier--but we believe otherwise--we should just hush and let them enjoy their personal fantasy.
Oh, I'm not talking about those who choose an affair (heavens, no) or those who buy a tiny red car when they can no way can afford it (though technically, that's not our business). But if they can afford the red car? Well, why not? And if our friend (or a neighbor or celebrity, etc.) chooses clothes which would embarrass us (even on our dead body) or signs-up for a face or body remodel, well, why do we feel as though we must blab our differing opinion?
Even if we've 'been there, done that,' why do we believe others will experience our same outcome? God designed each of us differently, after all.
Or if we have friends who take expensive trips to exotic places or purchase a huge house for just two people or take up salsa dancing at 69, well, can we just do this instead?:
"Rejoice with those who rejoice." ... Romans 12:15
I think we can.
If we just lighten up. Hand people their God-given freedom. Stop playing Holy Ghost Junior. And cease trying to control the world with our frowns and our you-won't-possibly-be-happy-doing-that-because-I-would-never-choose-to-do-that sermons.
Just imagine how free we might feel inside, ourselves. You know, if we gave-up all that control we think we have, but never belonged to us at all.
What a wonderful world this might be.

And okay, yes.... I do recall this Bible verse:
"... but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious." ... 1 Peter 3:4
........ but I hardly think God meant it was ok to let ourselves go, to look like scarecrows left out in the field over winter. heh.

Wow, what a good price on the nightgown!! Rayon too...hardly ever see that in nightgowns. I am a cotton fan and white is the color I rest the best in. Had darker sheets once and did not sleep well, so went back to white, or light colored ones...much better. But black nightgowns are surely pretty!!

Oh, my! I certainly do not want to look like a scarecrow left out in the field over winter. And I don't believe in judging others. So I'll try to cultivate the spirit you suggest of rejoicing with those who rejoice!

I know someone who judges people all the time and it is so irritating. We don't know others situations. It is so much better to just take care of ourselves and do what the Lord requires of us. "To do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
