Myrna shared this quote on Facebook today:

“Humility is perpetual quietness of heart. It is to have no trouble. It is never to be fretted or vexed, irritable or sore, to wonder at nothing that is done to me, to feel nothing done against me....

It is to be at rest when nobody praises me and when I am blamed or despised; it is to have a blessed home in myself where I can go in and shut the door and kneel to my Father in secret and be at peace, as in a deep sea of calmness, when all around and about is trouble.”

Oh wow. It took the writer just a few sentences to write what I've spent six years trying to say here in my blog. (I don't know the author's name. I'll add it when I discover it.)

I just wanted to give you something sweet to sip today.

In other news....... I should know what these flowers are called, but I'm not sure. Any of you Master Gardeners out there wanna tell me? (Note in the top photo they are growing quite tall, perhaps 9 or 10 feet.)

And they are scenting our Bunny Pasture this minute and making me think that surely! Heaven must smell exactly like this.

I love what you posted about "humility" Being in that quiet place knowing that God is in control and it's ok to not have those around us responding in the manner we (I) think they could...A gentle reminder..Thank you!

I think they are Rosa multiflora, sometimes considered a pest, and often seen climbing up into nearby trees....

But they are not often fragrant, so perhaps it's something else. But it looks like something in the rose family. multiflora is often considered a pest, but if you keep the lawn mowed they shouldn't be too bad..........

Oh, and if it's the rose I think, in the fall you can collect little buncehs of small red rosehips to dry for wreath making or Christmas decorations.

What a wonderful quotation. I'd like to think of things like that on my very own, but since I don't I'm glad that God has blessed others with that ability!
I don't know the name of those flowers, but they sure are pretty!
