On My Mind This Chilly Morning

Snow this morning and a 0 degree windchill, but oh well! It's January and Buffalo, after all, the sun is trying to shine, Hobbit Cottage is warm and all is well.

"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work."  ...  2 Corinthians 9:8

I've known Christians who argue about verses like that one. More like, they'll give you 5 examples why it just isn't true, ones such as, "Dick and Jane were good people, but look what happened to them!"

And here is one reason why I don't have 1,580 Facebook friends: I will always side with what the Bible says rather than tweaking it because of Dick and Jane. It's lost me friends in the past and will in the future

But oh well. God's Word is truth and endures forever and forever is a very, very long time. It's like eternity, stretching even across the streets and gleaming skies of Heaven.

Well. There's a chance that Naomi may return home in February to stay with us a month or two. A chance, ok? Nothing written in permanent ink, you understand.

So just in case, Mrs. LovesToBePreparedForAnything is embarking upon a personal Home Efficiency Challenge. I'm imagining ways to make this tiny home feel spacious, efficient and able to leap over any problems in a single bound.  :)

This is not easy. But it's a good challenge for my brain, you know, like crossword puzzles are supposed to be.

Remember our Bad Secret basement? Each day I make at least five changes to it (since Naomi would need to store her things there). Which sounds small, but after a month that will mean 150 changes(!)

Thinking 'five changes each day' does not overwhelm me like 'I must clean that whole darn, disgusting basement,' would.

Then this morning I added labels to the clear box 'drawers' in our freezer. I highly recommend this system (once a refrigerator repairman told me he wished all his clients did this because, normally, he's dropping hard-like-stone stuff, crash!, while emptying it, wasting lots of time).

One of my all-time favorite sayings ever? "Inch by inch, anything's a cinch."

How true. How true.

Debra, when our daughter came home last year, we didn't know how things would go, but it's been a wonderful experience. She came to us broken and hurt from an unwanted divorce, but God has been faithful to rebuild her and we've all been able to witness His goodness. I will continue to pray for your family.
