Shaking. The Bad Kind. The Good Kind.

See this Bible verse?

"The heart of her husband safely trusts in her, and he will not lack anything good."   ... Proverbs 31:11

That's a huge reason why I spend wee morning hours scribbling notes about our food supply.
Hours perfecting my Aldi, Target and Walmart grocery lists.
And why I keep searching for new places to safely store our food.

It's why we've not run out of hard-to-replace items since this house arrest virus shut-down.

That verse also explains why, if I hear a doctor/nutritionist/guy with common sense recommend an item to avoid/combat/treat covid-19? I go on a search to purchase a goodly supply. Like---

Vitamin D3, Vitamin C
Zinc, acidolphilus, elderberry
Tonic syrup with quinine
Pineapple juice (awesome for chest congestion)
And I push us out the red door into the sun more. Exercise more often. Get plenty of sleep.

Regularly I watch Youtube for news about upcoming shortages, then make purchases now, before the shortages arrive.

Basically? I want to obey God, do my best, and also, make my husband feel provided for, no matter what the future will bring.

Of course, you're free to sit inside your dark house listening to the government, placing your hope in their help, but not me! Not ever.

Why is the news not pushing good nutrition, vitamins and improving our immune system?! Ask yourself, please.

(Which reminds me. Years ago I wrote a blog post saying I didn't believe Fox News had all the answers, after which some of you wrote me,  "Oh! Fox is the only news I'll watch. The only one."

But now? Oh my. Various of those folks drink all the kool-aid the other news networks are pouring.

Tis blowing ol' Debra's mind.)

Back on January 2nd I wrote this to a friend--

Happy New Year! May this next year be full of much adventure in God (I'm thinking He's gonna shake things up--in good ways!).

Weird, right? Then for 2 months I wondered, "Why did I write that?" ???

God is shaking everything in our whole world which can be shaken.

And may we be like fresh salt, not stale, reflecting bright light, falling upon desperate people. May we create a thirst within them for the only One who can fix what's gone horribly wrong.

May revival come! Beginning within us, first, as we care for our spouse, our kids, then branching out to all the hurting world around us.

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet."   ... Matthew 5:13

"The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain."   ... Hebrews 12:27

And as I shared at Facebook--

When you can tell this nightmare is close to being over? When 'repentance' becomes the most spoken word. The most obeyed one.

Here's a doctor who actually recommends good foods and vitamins! Imagine. (There's a smattering of 'language,' but his passion for truth shines brighter.) I wish he was my doctor!

Oh, and I'm no longer allowing anonymous comments here at my blog. Why not? Because I refuse to listen to cowardly folks, that's why. (And that's the nice way of phrasing it.)

Ooooo.... Beauty for homemakers alert. So inspiring, indeed.

Even when I do not understand, I will praise you.

"For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." ... Matthew 6:14,15

I was doing pretty well until I went to the grocery store this morning....

"Suck it up, Buttercup!" I kept telling myself..

I would love to be able to stock up. more on meat but our freezer is full. Not just of meat but other frozen foods. This morning I was working on my grocery order for next week and I was amazed at all of the out of stocks I encountered.
I needed to get a prescription at Costco yesterday so I thought I would pick up toilet paper and paper towels and clorox wipes. Nope. Out of stock! You're kidding! I haven't been there in two months and thought sure that the hoohah of crazy buying was over. I did get laundry detergent and dishwasher tabs.
I agree, that repentence is needed desperately the world over. Keep on teaching Debra!

Amen sister! Our world needs to humble itself and beg God for forgiveness. Our community only has 5 confirmed scases but many shelves at the stores are empty.

Rebecca--uh-oh! Now you've got me curious as to what happened at your supermarket. :) It's a new world out there, right? I'm still fighting and praying to get a better version of the old world back.

Betsy--heh. Well, if your freezer is full, it sounds like you are stocked up pretty well! :) Sorry you couldn't find some things at the store. Seems like the whole world is broken right now and unable to work right. But let's keep believing (and fighting for) better days to come!

Pam--wow! So few cases and yet you have empty shelves. Really says a lot about peoples' mentality right now--or--maybe they're thinking ahead like I am. heh. No, really, I never take a lot of anything at once, I just consistently, weekly, take a little and put it on my shelves. It does add up. Glad you agree about repentance--too few are talking about it!

Thanks so much, Ladies! Blessings, Debra

We are under a very strict lockdown. But since I work at one of the leading Rehabilitation centre in Chennai, I have to go to work everyday. That gives me a chance to visit the supermarkets and stock up on food and groceries. But I have to endure long queues under the blazing sun.
