Oh! Have you seen Ty Pennington's new show called American Diner Revival? I'm thinking my fellow all-things-vintage-lovers will enjoy it much. Here's a blurb:
"Ty Pennington and Amanda Freitag are on a mission to help classic American diners across the country in American Diner Revival ... Over six episodes, Amanda and Ty travel the country empowering towns to lend a hand in saving their struggling diners, using a combination of Ty’s design and carpentry skills and Amanda’s culinary expertise."
So encouraging and see? More than just a handful of us still love eating in vintage-style diners. Their day is not over and never let anyone tell you otherwise. I watched the first episodes this morning (thanks to our On Demand cable feature) and totally enjoyed each inspiring, heart-warming one.
Have you already watched this? I hope you'll tell me what you thought.
The people who say there's nothing good on tv nowadays? Phooey on them. Either they're folks with a basic television-hating personality (and therefore, shouldn't even be criticizing tv shows because it's rather like dog haters commenting on message boards for dog lovers). Or they just enjoy complaining instead of actively searching for the special stuff. Frankly (I confess) I have 0 patience with the second group.
Yes, I said that. People who believe there's only one way to learn or who begin sentences with, "Nobody ever ____ anymore," or "The Good Old Days are gone because _____," are not my kindred spirits. And they tend not to like me or my positivity. At all.
But oh well. C'est la vie.

For me, it takes a lot of effort to ferret out the good NEW ones these days. I do have a few and sometimes I get sad that there are only a few episodes then a multi-month break.
But I do have a list and thank goodness for DVR.
Debbie--oh, I know! It's weird how TNT, especially, shows a handful of new episodes, then they wait a few months, then show the rest. Must make sense to someone, but not us, right? heh. Tom and I still find lots of great new shows nowadays ( & Netflix helps us find ones we missed) and are surprised by that. But maybe we have low standards. :) But looking at my Pinterest list, it's amazing how many new shows are on there and how much we enjoy them. Good to see you again! Blessings, Debra

I still haven't even looked at Pinterest and I know lots of people enjoy it. But I am on Facebook, LinkedIn, Goodreads and Librarything. Enough already, if I try Pinterest I would probably be on it too often LOL.
My husband and I like British tv, lots of mystery shows, and travel and cooking shows.
Terra--oh, you sound like me! That's a fear I had about Pinterest before I joined, but you know? I hardly look at it. I just use it to keep my mind a little better organized. Now, Facebook is the one I really have to watch out for, addiction-wise... :)
I also like travel shows, especially those with Anthony Bourdain and an older ones with a host whose name escapes me. I've tried to like British tv because so many of my friends do, but alas, I just can't. Do you have any none-British mystery shows to recommend? I'd probably like those. :) Thanks for commenting! Funny thing Debra, I just LAST NIGHT watched "Tiny House Hunting" for the first time and really enjoyed it!! We've found several recent TV series that we really like... "House of Cards" and "Homeland" are both real good. I will fully admit that I'm a Downton Abbey freak - absolutely love that show!! Now don't laugh, but a while back I was looking at my Amazon Prime TV shows account to find something that my 3 yr old grandtwins could watch when they visit. I found the CUTEST animated series EVER!!!! I watch it all the time! I sing the theme song! I just love "Shaun the Sheep"!!! :) No words are spoken AT ALL in this show, but you can tell by the expressions on the faces of the farm animals (particularly the sheep!) and the little noises they make, exactly what they are thinking! SO cute and totally entertaining! And no, the twins haven't even watched it yet!! hahaha "Grammie" is already on Season Two!! :)
Hi Susan! That's so cute about Shaun the Sheep! And you reminded me that I'd not added Pete and Pete to my Pinterest list. That was a kids' show that I and other adults loved for lots of reasons. Still do--I have the dvd's. :)
Our cable company didn't add the latest Tiny House Hunting to the On Demand feature so I'd thought it wasn't on this week--thanks for letting me know it was. I'll keep checking. It's a favorite of mine as well as Tiny House Nation. I couldn't live in one yet, but it's fun watching others try! :) Blessings, Debra
