Go Here Instead---If You Dare

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits."   ... Proverbs 18:21

******

My very good friend, Anne, wrote a truly inspired blog post which, ok, some of you, uh, might hate. (But oh well.) Others of you won't know quite what to think, while others will, as I do, just plain love it.

So because I have nothing better to say today, I hope you'll zip over to Anne's and read what I would have said if only I had the courage, especially the part about Mrs. Obama, because oh my goodness... many's the time I've gone all bug-eyed livid when Christians (especially) criticize her so cruelly.

Oh, the prices we unknowingly pay when we speak such words. The bad days, the bad headaches, the bad lives--for by our words we will be justified, by our words we'll be condemned (Matthew 12:37).

But don't get me started. Just go read Anne. If you dare.

"Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech." ... 1 Peter 3:10

“But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you."   ... Luke 6:27-29

And to reinforce Anne's noticing grace all around her? Here's more proof that Grace is alive and well on Planet Earth. That not everyone is out to ruin The Good Old Days.

Anne's message was definitely worth reading. Isn't it amazing how powerful our words are? We have the power to speak life or death. I appreciate the reminder that we are responsible for the messages we're sending to our families, friends and to the world. Makes me want to do better.

I'm so glad you all enjoyed and were inspired by Anne's post! It still inspires me all these days later. A good post does that.

And Bonnie--I wish the three of us were neighbors, also.... maybe in Heaven--who knows? I think we'll have a ton of sweet surprises there. :)

Thanks, Everyone, for commenting here and at Anne's, also... Blessings, Debra
