Farewell--For Awhile
Now, nobody panic, but--for awhile--I'm bailing out of blogging.
Out of all of Computer Land, actually. Facebook, email, etc.
The reasons? Mostly, I just need to visit with the woman I used to be pre-2000, the year I first went online. I need to reconnect with her, make sure she's ok and well, become reaquainted.
Frankly, I've missed her, this loner lady who was simply happy amongst her books, magazines, cats, music, aprons, home and her yard.
It's time to go back, yet in going back, I feel I'm moving forward. Obviously, this is hard to explain.
But alas, it is what it is and so is the fact that I'll miss blogging. And I will miss you.
So for now--but not forever--I am stepping away from my computer and stepping into the rest of my life. And oh, how I do wish you well in all your endeavors! And I thank each of you who have encouraged me with your kind comments and emails. I'll leave this blog up, of course, so feel free to read my 2,000 old posts. After a couple days, I'll close the comments, though.
Again, someday I'll return, but I have no idea when that day will be. In the meantime, be well and keep ever so close to God, our only hope.
Blessings, Debra

At times, I believe we all feel like that. That is why I put limits on myself and my computer time...it is truly hard to balance! In our lives, we have to make sure that God is first! Take care, Debra. God's blessings. :)

Enjoy her, that wonderful beautiful soul who know of the wisdom of silence. As you would also know at the thought of and remembrance of you will be prayer and fondness . Following your heart will lead you home where the best of life can be found.
ReplyDeleteYou have been a joy. Be blesses and embraced. Along the road if you remember me know that there is another woman out there that is always for you.
Your friend.
Donetta
I will miss you but totally understand what you're doing. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWe will miss you, Debra. You have to do what's best for you. You always seemed to write things that hit home with me, I appreciate all your hard work. Blessings, dear girl. Think I was one of your first readers, Joyce in Texas P.S. if you want to sneak in the occasional post or picture, that would be o.k., too!!
ReplyDeleteI will miss you a great deal, but I understand what you are saying..we are very much alike.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what would happen if all of us decided to step away from blogger and Facebook for a period of time. Maybe, just maybe, it would be good for all of us.
I send you hugs and wait on this end if and when you are ready to once again bless us with your blog.
Hi Debra, it's Pam from Seattle. You are very wise! Although I will miss reading your posts; I completely understand what you are doing. We are alike in many ways. I, too am essentially a loner. When I was forced to quiet down last year after hurting my back, I realized how much I enjoyed the solitude. Enjoy your dear husband and daughter and I hope to "see" you again someday! Best wishes, now and always. In His name.
ReplyDeleteI will miss you and Tom. We have been through a lot in the last few months with a range of emotions. I do understand as sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the number of blogs I receive and wanting to post something often. Take care and know that we will be right here waiting for you when you get back.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Odie
Enjoy your time away. I think it is a wise decision. I think many of us (especially me) spend way too much time sitting in front of a computer screen.
ReplyDeleteWith spring arriving, you will be able to spend some quiet time on your lovely porch with some special books.

It is wise, to listen to ourselves. Or to our "gut feeling", which isn't as nice a way to say it, but... I do soooooo believe in listening to my gut feeling.
ReplyDeleteNo matter for how long or how short a time, it will be good for you. And you will know, when to return.
Maybe it's the time of year or something... But I've been working my way, to less Net. Sounds funny because I certainly don't seem to be on the Net, less. But I know what I have changed. And it feels good.
And that's what we all need to do, that which resonates with ourselves.
I applaud your Wisdom!
Gentle hugs...
Good for you Debra, although I will miss reading your inspirations posts. Best of everything to you and Tom and Naomi. If you end up in NC, send me an email (ha!), maybe we can meet sometime.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Oh, I will miss reading you so much! It is not surprising as you pour so much of yourself into your wise and insightful posts that you may need a time to "fill back up". Take care and know alot of us will be praying for you.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed time of solitude and grace. I'll miss reading your heartfelt posts. You give alot of yourself, now it's time to rest in the hands of God. Be well.
ReplyDeleteJust when I found your blog, I will miss you! But, I also understand and have taken a month away from the computer in Summers for the last few years, and it is delightful to spend time more "productively" during that hiatus.
ReplyDeleteI will try to go back and read all your old posts, as you suggested, knowing that I won't fall behind! ;)
Best wishes to you and your family and enjoy Spring! :D
I will miss reading your post but completely understand.
ReplyDeleteenjoy your rest.
Blessings
Patty H.
I think you're very wise to take a break, Debra, but as so many others have said, you will be so very missed! Hope you collect all kinds of wonderful stories to tell when you come back from your sabbatical. All God's richest blessings on you and your family.
ReplyDeleteYes, we all need a breather now and again. Although shocking to hear you sign off for now it is completely understandable. The fact that you mentioned it will not be forever though let me breath again! Just kidding. I do though look very forward to your thoughts that give me pause and make me wonder about God in my life etc.
ReplyDeleteto study His word. Also like many, I too have wanted to follow a dream and you did it then looked back and wondered about it all etc. Your blog has much "meat" contemplation and reflection. God has given you a gift for writing. For now though I wish you, our family and Grace to keep each other company. Your personal life, not blog land comes first. Sarah
Dear Debra,
ReplyDeleteI'll miss you and look forward to your return, but I also wish you well in what seems like a wise choice to leave blogland for a time and renew your spirit and follow Grace in other ways. God bless you and your family forever!
You'll be missed from the blogosphere. I look forward to your return and hope that your time away is absolutely wonderful.
ReplyDeleteTry not to stay away too long. I'll miss you!! :)
ReplyDeleteI can sure relate to how you feel. I sure hope your time away is refreshing and nurishing to your soul.
ReplyDeleteDon't stay away too long,
Lisa :O)
Debra, I hope the break, no matter how long is just what you need. I'll be thinking of you.
