Time to Stretch. To Give Some More.

You know the way many people put all that work into Christmas and then get that let-down-feeling afterward?

Well, I've got that let-down-feeling now. In May.

Gah. We had such a fun, whirlwind time with our Nevada friends! We did all that sight-seeing and well, this week after their departure has dragged along. Doesn't help that the cloud bank outside has lifted only a few hours, either. Really doesn't help that this has--officially--been the rainiest Springtime ever in Buffalo's recorded history(!)

This, too, shall pass. This, too, shall pass. Hope springs eternal. I keep reminding myself of that.

I need some vintage time. To read my vintage teen romance books,  watch some episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show. Read my issues of 1920's and 30's The American Magazine and do some old-fashioned giving to others, being more concerned about their cloudy days than my own.

I would say that I need to spend more time with God, but gracious! I've been doing that in spades lately, and well, sometimes you've just gotta get up out of that chair and take Him to other lands with you. Where there are needs. It can't always just be Him and Me Against The World, no, it needs to branch out and become Him and Me Out To Encourage The World.

Yep, that sounds just right long about now, rather than dreaming of moving to a southern state (prematurely, out of God's timing) and starting a whole new life. My heart and Life Lessons and this little farm do need to be broadened, stretched and shared.

So maybe He and I will see you out there sometime soon along the Highways and Byways, ok? Watch for us. I'll be that Hobbit-like woman walking beside a great big glowy God. You can't miss us.  ツ

  2. big hug!
It was a wonderful thing yesterday.
There was a woman in wal-mart that was just stunning for some reason.
seeing her a few moments later...I said "at the risk of being bold, my I say that you are strikingly beautiful."
She fell into my arms weeping saying that she was having the very worst day ever, "this will help me make it through today" she said.
Dash was with me. Made him feel real good too.
Getting out of my self felt real good too.
    Good road to walk.
    Missed ya.
Just have not been in the blogging zone of late.

Well, Debra depressed after a lovely visit with close friends?? Such times never last long enough here on this side of the veil, do they? I say, you must be human!! But you will get past this...we all do with time...and finding something to do for another will help won't it?

  4. Odie--thanks so much for your good wishes! I think they brought the sun back yesterday afternoon. And we are due for sun all day today...woo hoo! :)

Donetta--oh my goodness, I loved your story so much! Yes, that's the kind of thing I'm talking about. So glad Dash was able to see that, too, and thanks for sharing with us!

Elizabeth--oh dear, 'depressed' is too strong of a word for what I've been feeling. Remember how I said I've spent extra time with God? Personally, I believe it's impossible for a person to spend lots of time with God and still feel depressed--He is such a deliverer!

Mostly I've just been getting used to slowing way back down after the whirlwind of activity and that's taken adjustment. Also, I'm going through another time of transition and that is usually uncomfortable until one crosses over to the other side of it. :)

Thanks for your comments, Everyone! ...Debra

I meant the word "depressed" as tongue in cheek, dear Debra...but we should feel the absence of people we most connect with...why not? One day, no more separations!! Something to look forward to...and one needs things to look forward to, I think.
