I took the weekend off from this blog because, basically, I had nothing new to say. Just the same ol' three things I've woven into two-thousand posts and 6 years:
1. Above all, grow closer to God.
2. Let Him change you (your whole world will change)
3. Crave and go after peace.
Of course, (as I've heard said), God doesn't require that we always have a new thing to say, just a now thing .You know, something timely and relevant that will, perhaps, help someone.
Well, I still don't have even that at the moment.
So. Just to let you know I'm still here, I thought I'd give you a simple list. And here you go:

As they say, there's no accounting for taste. :)
The majority of these are what I'd call comfort reads and I highly recommend each one, especially this time of year when many of us feel the snow covering our yards is creeping inside to cover--and freeze--our brains.
I am so there right now. heh.

Of course, you know I am planning on retiring at Rocky Ridge Farm. I'm sure they won't mind.;) Sometimes we just have days of quietness, maybe for God to love on us for our own sake? I sometimes tend to take every moment and think I need to turn it into a post to share, teach, communicate. Anyway, today's post is perfect as I am off to the library in this frozen little corner of the world and now will take your list along with me!

ReplyDeleteAnd how fun that you'll take my list with you. Your library will have some of the kids' lit. books for sure, but I'm not certain about many of the others. I tend to favor quirky, out of print books no longer found in libraries and that's why I'm so thrilled with the good ol' Internet--it's helped reunite me with lots of books I read while young and otherwise could now find no way else. Dolores--great idea! Maybe I'll make a music list tomorrow for, coincidentally, I *have* been making a sort of mental music list lately. As a preview, you can check out the music at Kim's Daisy Cottage--I adore probably 95 percent of those songs and I listen to them a few times each week. :)

I also enjoy the other books in the series and own the first five (or so), but Mary Emma and Company is the one I love best and have read so many times that, well, you wouldn't believe it. :) I do tend to love books where much detailed description is given to the making of a home, hence my love for that one.
