I got him started on Little Britches and he loved that so read the rest of the books. I read them as a child.
My husband grew up in Montana so he can relate to the above mentioned books.
I seem to gravitate to books written long ago, when life was simpler. I became a librarian.
Now I am retired and write books, and the main reason I visit the library is I volunteer to take library books to a home bound senior, through the local public library volunteer program. You are right, we go through changes, part of the growing process.Terra https://www.blogger.com/profile/04396481049075747940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9024018.post-14838978681790109702012-07-08T16:40:11.845-04:002012-07-08T16:40:11.845-04:00Our hometown had two wonderful libraries. It's a weird story how I came to buy that book: At a recent church sale I bought a book by his aunt, Elsie Doig Townsend. After reading it I looked her up online and found her husband's family tree, found the mention that Ivan Doig was an author, so then I looked him up at amazon. The book I bought is about his life as a child and it&#Debrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08894174653208070320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9024018.post-71585070709730572172012-07-08T11:02:32.569-04:002012-07-08T11:02:32.569-04:00I noticed you have a book by Ivan Doig. He is probably his favorite contemporary author.

I agree, it is getting harder to find books that are morally decent, or mysteries that aren't filled with gore. I found a book at Goodwill, that was recommended by another blogger, and it gives me nightmares.

I also like to find Echoes From the Hillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03012454336216415478noreply@blogger.com
